Swirl painting your guitar

Swirl painting your guitar.  Anyone tried this technique on either a guitar body, or pedal box ?  How did it turn out? Found several examples on youtube, there's loads more, but here's a couple of examples below.

I've seen most of those videos and am keen to give that a try one day. I have the guitar for it as well (should it fail I wouldn't care ). I love the look of the finish.
