Guitar Sauce

Hey folks,

I am Shaun from Guitar Sauce. I specialise in quality guitar wiring harness upgrades for a range of popular guitars. All of my wiring harnesses are handmade using quality US spec parts and are made to order.

If you are working on a guitar build or simply need to upgrade those dodgy electronics, I can help!

You can check out our wiring harnesses here: https://guitarsauce.com.au/guitar-wiring-harness-upgrades/. If there is something specific you are after which isn't featured on the website then feel free to shoot me an email and I will be happy to help out.

Awesome! Not only does the Australian component please me, but the fact that you appear to be within driving distance pleases me more :)

Definitely a worthwhile upgrade.  Cheap electronics are so annoying.  Even mid-priced guitars seem to have poor quality electronics.  Switches that quickly wear out and scratchy pots that start to cut out in spots, grrr.  I have never had any luck with cleaning them either (nor do I understand how they could have gotten so dirty so quick in a nearly sealed housing that is in a covered chamber.)  Replacement is the way to go.

Couldn't agree more, AtrumKithara. Some of the wiring I have pulled out of guitars has been appalling. Unfortunately, some manufacturers cut corners in order to increase profits and an easy way to do this is with components which you tend to not see when purchasing a guitar - all the electronics hidden inside them. As for the trouble with cheap pots, if cleaning them doesn't help then chances are the tracks inside them are damaged or wearing out - common problem with the cheap ones.

Love that Tele on your website, AtrumKithara!

I have a terrible guitar that I'm still proud of because I put much of it together myself (and it shows). One thing I have no clue about though is wiring and electronics in general. I may just contact you to get some costs for a rewire.

I just wanted to quickly write something to let people know I went ahead with a Guitar Sauce rewire. I'm not electronically minded nor can I use a soldering iron without burning myself, so I asked Shaun to do the rewire for me (for a fee obviously). I have to say I am absolutely amazed with the tonal difference (not to mention the custom wiring change I requested).

I loved my Notcaster before the rewire. I love it a whole lot more now. It's no longer one of my lesser guitars. I'll be writing more about the process on my own website as soon as I get a spare moment.

Hey Jason, thank you for the kind words! If you happen to record anything on your tele I would be keen to hear how it sounds

I'm sure I can arrange that. Just give me a bit of time to sort some things out. I have a few things on the go right now.

I finally got my act together. Full story on my website and I made a very quick and simple sound file that showcases the clean tones (going from middle position through to the neck position) and the distorted tone (using the bridge position). Neck clean and bridge distorted are now perfect for my liking. I love it!

Fingers crossed as I attempt to embed fromSoundCloud :)

That tele is sounding very cool! Just goes to show, you don't need a $3000 guitar to have great tone.

Thanks (for fixing the wiring and the compliment) :)

I know what you mean though. That guitar has cost me about $300 in total I believe (including your rewire). The best part is it's all my self-selected gear so it's the guitar I always wanted.

Hey folks,

After a long wait I have finally received another shipment of Russian PIO capacitors. If you are upgrading your wiring then these are the best 'bang for your buck' capacitors you can use.

If you are looking to upgrade your guitars wiring and you would like your capacitors doused in Russian vodka then just let me know!

Cheers,
