Mick

As the title says.

How old / young were you when you start playing the guitar?

I was in my mid twenties when I first picked one up.  Still haven't mastered it (at all).

I didn't actually start playing (or trying to play) till I was about 13-14.  My mother played piano for the local church, so I'd always been around music.  Learned a little piano from her, and started playing alto sax in school early on, but guitar was what I always wanted to play.

Physical problems - brought on by numerous motorcycle accidents and other reckless adventures - started limiting my playing quite some time ago, and now I play very little.  Sadly, most of my 'guitar' work now is done with one hand on a keyboard using samples.  I do miss playing.

I guess I never really mastered it either, but I always enjoyed playing.  Especially back in the 60's and 70's...
A computer once beat me at chess.  As it turns out, though, it was no match for me at kick boxing...

I would have been 16 or 17. That was well over 20 years ago. Almost 30 ;)

I'm yet to go beyond the I can play parts of a lot of songs phase. I'm not very dedicated.
