Afternoon Mick.

I can't imagine that the G5 would not have stereo out.

Here's the back of the G3X

Howard, you're right it does have stereo, not really taken any notice of it until you mentioned it.  Here's the the back of the G5

I see that now photobucket has decided to charge people for hosting their images, it's making a big mess of thousands of forums which now have missing images throughout.

You should definitely try a Katana if you get the chance. They really are quite outstanding, if somewhat more expensive than most of the competition, especially when you add in the cost of the GA-FC which you ideally need to get the most out of it. Thomann have currently got one of the 100 1x12s as B stock, so you could always buy it and then send it back . . although that is rather naughty. No-one seems to have any new 100 1x12s, they're always on 'pre-order' or 'due back in stock on . . ' so getting that one from Thomann might be the only way to test one.

The only annoying thing about the Katana is that it is very firmly mono. I have been running the stereo out from my Zoom pedal - one side into the Katana, one into the Mustang - just for the craic - sounds lovely!

I still haven't had a chance to go try a Katana, but I definitely will do.   So you Zoom pedal has a stereo out?  Is that the G3? Or have you got a different one, didn't know it had that feature.  Wonder if my G5 has the same, I should really read the manual.

They look rather neat, but I already have more amplifiers than I need. I've been reliably informed.

Must be catching Howard. because I have also received the same information.  :D

Howard, I'll be sticking with my Mustang 3 v2 for some time to come. I think.  Unless I win the lottery or I get one to demo.  ;)  I'm getting jittery over the Katana though, itching to try one now.

Effects Pedals & Pedalboards / Looper Pedals
« on: May 07, 2017, 11:47:42 AM »
Do you use Looper pedals, and if so what's your preferred make and model.  I have a looper built into my Zoom G5, but don't use it very often, or at least not as much as I could.  I'd probably use it more often if I could get my head around the G5 controls.

Anyway, what do you use, and is it really easy to operate?

Noticed this one at,  The NUX Loop Core Guitar Effects Pedal  Looks like a pretty neat and feature packed pedal for the money, at only £82.99

"The NUX Loop Core Guitar Effects Pedal offers up to 6 hours of mono and stereo recording time, allowing you to fully experiment with layering up your sounds. As well as the main looper function, the Loop Core also offers 99 user memories, built-in drum patterns with tap tempo, tru bypass and many more. It is the perfect tool for composers or simply for and guitarist wanting to jam."

General Discussion / Re: Vape Tanks, or E-Cigarettes
« on: April 23, 2017, 10:54:13 AM »
After reading and watching many reviews I finally decided to upgrade to a cheap mod and tank setup, and found the one I wanted on

The Aspire Zelos 50w Kit Nautilus 2 Tank (Black).  it's a great little mod and tank combo, and does exactly what I need to move on from real cigarettes.  The Nautilus 2 Tank has adjustable air flow so it can be turned down to give you that tight draw like you'd get from a real cig.  Open up the airflow and crank up the wattage and your doing virtually mouth to lung.

The Nautilus 2 tank is a very neat looking tank, but it has its drawbacks for me.  One being, because it's a top filling tank and toe top cap has a integrated cover that slides over the glass tube, it's quite difficult to grip the thing to unscrew the cap /Cover to refill it, it's very smooth with no knurling to gain any grip. Its small, only hold 2ml of juice, but that's the size all tanks will be soon due to the new laws being introduced.

Apart from that this thing is fantastic, and the mod itself is extremely easy to operate, has loads of functions if you want to explore, or use different tanks. And a built in 2500mAh Battery so you'll get a lot of vaping in between charges.

More links with the same kit.

Ah, but it has the 0.5w power choke, which is what I use it on all the time in the house . . .  :legit:

Good point Howard, I'd forgotten about that.  So in reality the Katana is probably more controllable than the Mustang 3.  I find the master volume on the Mustang very touchy for living room use, either very quiet, or very loud lol.

Effects Pedals & Pedalboards / Line-6 Helix and Helix LT
« on: April 14, 2017, 12:54:43 PM »
Anyone took the plunge and got a Line-6 helix.  Just wondered what your first impressions are on this effects processor.

I see now they have a slightly cheaper version called the Helix LT , which I'll need to read up on to see what the differences are.  Looks like a few of the connectivity has been removed, but what else I'm not sure yet.

If you have either of these units please post your thoughts.
