Title: How to unite a collection of songs
Post by: Looking-Glass Lantern on September 05, 2014, 09:15:15 PM
This is something I'm working on. The upcoming LGL album is written as a 'concept' album. Tunes reappear throughout the entire album, spread across the tracks. This has freed up the guitar to have a different character, not just for each song, but for each and every phrase. It doesn't sound disjointed, because the whole thing is unified by the writing. Watch this space...

I love the sound of this plan. One of my favourite metal albums is WASP's concept album The Crimson Idol. A few of the tracks in that album featured repeated guitar parts and vocals (although sung with varied emphasis). I look forward to hearing what you put together.
