Thanks for the kind comments, guys, much appreciated........

Here's another reggae song I put together for last months TTM ODC. This one came first out of 6, I'm proud to say.  :)

This time I put all of the instruments and vox together.
Completed over about 6 hours on a Sunday afternoon...........  ;)

Like this one also! Really into the reggae genre of late. You got it down!

I have the iRig HD Pro. That thing is amazing. Crystal clear sounds and if you buy it you unlock some pretty wicked Metal tones in AmpliTube for iOS. If you happen to also own a Mac, then you unlock AmpliTube Metal (awesome pack) as well.

Agreed, I have the iRig HD and it is excellent. The iRig HD Pro you would not regret.

Show Off Your Cover Songs / Black Sabbath, Born to Lose

Hi Guys

I used EZ drummer Groove clips to build this as the midi I used to make the BT did not have the greatest drums programmed in. Me on all guitars and mix and my buddy Jim on vocals.

Thanks for listening!

General Discussion / Re: When to record guitar parts

This is an interesting approach. I can see how that could work well. Must try this

Hi All,

Here is our cover of a track from Dio's Magica album. Jim (7th Son) turned in a superb vocal performance. I built the BT from a Guitar Pro file and we both recorded and added additional synth and choir sounds. All guitars are from my Pod HD and Boss GT100 using my trusty Ibanez RG1XXV.

Drums: EZ Drummer Rock Solid EZX
Bass and synths: Stock Logic Pro X Instruments

Thanks in advance for listening.

1: What's your favourite make of effects pedals?  Do you have a favourite make, and do you tent to stick with the one maker.

I have always loved Boss pedals, built like tanks and I love their form factor.  ;D

2: Also, do you have a favourite pedal?  Perhaps one you use all the time, and would be really upset if it got lost or stolen and you couldn't replace it.

I am a Multi Effects user. My favorite pedal since I got it at release in 2012 is the Boss GT100. The tones and dynamics of it are really nice. I have also just started using the Guitar to midi feature. Very clever as it transmits midi via the audio cable. It is only monophonic but it does the job and no need for a GK pickup. Last night I added choir voices to a project by triggering the instrument in Logic Pro X using the midi input from the GT100. I could play with the synths for hours. I would be at a loss without the GT100, so if something happened to it, then I would replace ASAP.

So, in conclusion I am pretty much a Boss guy. I do have a Line 6 Pod HD and I use that for tones and Gt100 for tones for my projects. I like to use the two as they sound like separate rigs. Example for my dual tracking, I will record one rhythm take with Pod HD and pan it left and one take with GT100 and pan it right. I will soon be posting a Dio cover where you get to hear this approach and the Guitar to midi feature of the GT100.

OK, I have rambled on and drifted off topic from the questions but there you have it.

We had a fantastic Daisy Rock day last week at Advance Music in Hornchurch. It was a very Pink day and we welcomed our new Daisy Rock artist Hannah Jane Lewis in to the fold! She chose her new Daisy Rock guitar and we don't think you will be surprised to learn it was the Elite Venus

I grew up in Hornchurch, takes me back!
Looks like a great day

Introduce Yourself / Hi to all
July 02, 2014, 06:05:09 PM
Hello everyone,

My name is Mark. I am 43 years old and I live in Delaware - USA. I like playing guitar and recording and mixing. My main guitars I go to the most are an Ibanez RG1XXV and a Fender Ritchie Blackmore strat.  I have been playing ~20 years and have ~10 years of recording experience. I am looking forward to checking out covers etc here and getting and giving advice on all things guitars, recording and mixing.

Hoping to learn more, offer some wisdom, and be a part of the community here.

thanks for having be on board!

DAWs / Re: Your favorite DAW?

Hi Mick
It is definitely worth trying, the free version will not let you use 3rd party VST's (for example, EZ Drummer) but will allow you to see if you like the workflow. There are lots of good videos online as tutorials. I was using Logic but just find this streamlines my recording and workflow. I have no system issues and yet on Logic with my Mac which is pretty powerful I would get the audio engine resources issue, that was really slowing my workflow down.

If you have used Reaper then you should be able to transition to Studio One 2 pretty easily. I started with Artist and then purchased the upgrades to get me to the Pro version. The Producer version is very nice, this is the level before the Pro version. it is 32 bit only but you can use all 3rd party VST's within it.

Go try the free version, let me know what you think.
