1 boss ds1. Does what it says on the tin.

2 Mxr Zack wylde overdrive. Best I've used for cutting through the mud.  I'd recommend a Jekyll and Hyde also, very nice sound, I was gutted when mine went

On Facebook there is a page "musicians Mart ne" for buying and selling and drooling over, really good page, worth a look, not sure if there is one for other parts of the uk

Bass Guitar / Re: What bass strings?
April 19, 2013, 08:14:43 AM
I use Ernie ball super slinkys and change them every 6 month's or so.  To be honest, try different strings and see what you like. I cannot play with flat wound strings or other fancy blends as for gauge that's more to do with preference
I use the ernies on my guitar too any my reason for picking them is I can never remember what strings I want and these come in a neon pink packet so easy to spot in the shop.

Bass Guitar / Re: Bass, cutting your teeth?
April 19, 2013, 08:07:28 AM
Started on guitar, found a band and the bassist sucked. So we kicked her out and couldn't find anyone else so I sold my gear and bought a cheap bass and amp.  Only recently started gigging as a guitarist again

Electric Guitar / Re: Anyone built their own guitar?
April 19, 2013, 07:48:56 AM
I built a bass once and a couple of guitars, mostly as I wanted a specific shaped body.  The bass looked cool, it was shaped like an SG pointy end at both ends of the body and was purple.  It costs more to make a guitar than to buy one, I recently looked into making a guitar again but it started to get expensive.  There is a few good shops around, I recommend chguitars.co.UK. My advice is, if you are wanting to make your own guitar, cut your own body from ply wood and make it look insane.
