Post by: Mick on April 16, 2014, 06:24:56 AM
I notice Gear4Music have some really good prices on Roland Cube amps in their sale, so if you'r looking for a good practice amp or more, then check these out.

Roland Cube 20XL Guitar Amp (http://bit.ly/1bpC90N) Now only £89.00   RRP £170.00

Roland Cube 40XL Guitar Amp (http://bit.ly/1bpCoZC) Now only £119.00   RRP £230.00

Roland Cube 80XL Guitar Amp (http://bit.ly/1iocMSA) Now only £179.00   RRP £370.00

I'm quite liking the 40XL myself.  ;)

Don't think you can go wrong there Mick - I've got an old model Cube 60 (no XLs or anything) that I got from the local 'cash for gold' shop. It's a lovely solid state amplifier. The Jazz Chorus clean model is fantastic - every guitar player I know who has tried it remarks on what a beautiful clear tone it has. The only extra you'll need is a footswitch (if none is supplied) for channel switching, or a fancy two way one for switching channel and effects.

Last time I looked they still had a unused Cube 40 for â,¬99 ;D

Howard, the cube is still firmly on my shopping shortlist, I've liked them since I first set eyes and ears on them years back, and that was before the XL's came out.  I think the 40XL would make a nice practice amp for me tbh, especially like the 80 second looper.  8)

I agree though, for the money it's a no brainer, but like I said it won't be for a while until I hit the shops, and gear and prices will no doubt change by then.  I'll do my research again then.  ;)

Nice amps! Good savings there too. A friend of mine has the smallest little Cube amp I've ever seen and I can't believe the sounds (tone and volume) he gets from that thing. I'm sure the 40 would be amazing :)
