Yeah I'll definitely try it. Not used to connecting my amp to my laptop haha. I actually bought the USB cable to connect them a few days ago as mine didn't come with one.

Got an offer which is on Amazon at the moment - may keep it open for a while. Basically it's a guitar string cleaner for 99p (usually retails for £7-8). You get £6 off the usual price which was the cheapest anyway.

To get it go to http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00VYO36OS and use the code Y9WW2OFM during the checkout process.

Note you may still need to pay postage, but I *think* if you add the string cleaner to your basket (£6.99) then add £3.01 worth of other stuff, you may be able to get the free delivery, you can then use the code to get the £6 off.

Any honest reviews of the cleaner after you've tried it out would be much appreciated (although not required for the offer).

In the Spartan Music store we've got a few more strap designs which follow our low cost high value philosophy:

This one is £14:

Any questions / problems with the offer and let me know!

I actually got the ID Core 20 about a month ago. And yes I think the noise gate is a bit too aggressive, cuts off way too soon. Sometimes when just softly picking the string it doesn't do anything... Didn't know it came with a noise gate at first so thought it was faulty. I should turn it off but not experimented with the software yet. Hope to do some recordings soon.

But yeah apart from that, sounds great! Had a 50w Laney before and this ID core sounds much better. The effects sound pretty good too. Really did improve my tone by quite a bit.

GAK have been really good for me in the past; fast delivery, have sorted out problems quickly - 10/10. Hoping to buy a Blackstar ID Core 20 from them soon.

Thomann have been ok, if a bit slow. When I bought from them my package was a bit bashed too. Guess it does come from Germany though.

Amazon have been reliable too. Their customer service has been beyond good. I once managed to return something after 8 months!

Yeah I'll be looking to do that soon. My amp is having some reliability problems at the moment so hopefully I can make a video when I've got a new one :)

I sell it for £110 with delivery included. I believe it's meant to be a copy of the ZVex Nano which retails at £350ish.

Just an update on some new products which some of you may find interesting because, as far as I know, they're not available in the UK yet.

The first is the new range of ENO pedals which I think will be at NAMM. They're called the Xtreme series, a bit of an upgrade over the first generation. Here is one of them (chorus):

Also got a mini tube amp head in stock. The Wangs VT-H1 (yes I know "Wangs" very funny :p). It's made by the sister company of Biyang guitar pedals. Here it is:

Both have very limited stock but will reorder if they're popular.

Hey guys,

Happy to say that we've added Joyo pedals to our range:

http://spartanmusic.co.uk/collections/joyo-guitar-pedals

I'm working with the official Joyo UK distributor and am gradually building up the range of Joyo pedals in stock. Will have some of the new Ironman pedals soon too.

All pedals have the full warranty, and are dispatched quickly from the UK. So you'll not face any extra customs charges (which is sometimes a problem when buying from overseas on eBay etc.)

If you'd like a certain Joyo pedal which isn't in stock just let me know!

Here's a 5% discount which everyone on Guitarist Guild is welcome to use (works for all products):

5OFF

Apply the code on the second page of the standard checkout process.

If you use paypal enter the code after paypal redirects you back to the site.

Just an update to say that the guitar straps I mentioned are now in stock. They're available for £9.99 on the site. So they're a inexpensive strap, but are still comfortable and look pretty cool too (well I think so anyway!). Great for guitarists on a budget.

Here they are:

You can see them in more detail here.

General Discussion / Re: BEST GUITAR SOLO?
August 25, 2014, 11:40:47 AM
They're not for everyone, but I love the Mars Volta. One of their songs - Tetragrammaton I thought was really underrated. Has two awesome solos. One here - https://youtu.be/l1_1VgDVmQo?t=7m46s and another here https://youtu.be/l1_1VgDVmQo?t=14m53s

If you have 17m to spare listen to the whole song!

Thanks guys :)

Yeah JOYO are definitely on my "to sell" list. The reason I've not got them yet is that they're readily available from other websites in the UK, where as I've not seen many Biyang and ENO sellers. They'll probably be the next brand I stock though because of their popularity.

I was thinking about Moen pedals too, although I've not had any experience with them.

Hey everyone, my name's Mark and I run Spartan Music, a new site which sells low cost guitar pedals and accessories. The aim of the site is to create a store where guitarists can find great bargains as an alternative to the big brand names. Currently we sell pedal brands such as Biyang and ENO as well as our own branded gear. I hope the site will especially appeal to beginner and intermediate guitarists, and even experienced players who just want to find a great bargain or reliable backup. The site is located at http://spartanmusic.co.uk/ so please check it out :)

I started the business because as a beginner I wanted to experiment with new gear, but didn't want to spend a fortune. So I bought a few of the pedal brands mentioned above. As I became more experienced, I thought they still sound great. That's even after I'd used some of the big pedal brands or boutique pedals. In terms of value they were incredible. But there didn't seem to be a UK based store who specialised in selling just low cost pedals and accessories. So I thought I'd do just that!

While there isn't a massive range of products in stock yet due to the age of the business and obvious financial restrictions, the selection is gradually increasing. I hope to add other low cost guitar pedal brands in the near future, also there are some of our own brand guitar straps on the way within the next few months. Will update this thread when they're here. They essentially are cool looking straps which are actually comfortable (don't have that plastic feel!) but are available for £10.

If you know a good low cost pedal brand but can't find a reliable UK supplier, reply to this thread and I'll look into stocking them in the future. Alternatively you can email me at SpartanMusic.co.uk

Thanks for reading!
