So your about to by your first electric guitar, for example one of the Fender Squire Affinity series.
These come in a couple of different types, the standard with three single coil pickups, and the HSS (http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Squier-by-Fender-Stratocaster-Pack-HSS-with-15w-Amp-Sunburst/L82) version which has a humbucking bridge pickup, and single coil neck and middle pickups.
Which one would you choose and why? What would make you choose the Stratocaster HSS (http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Squier-by-Fender-Stratocaster-Pack-HSS-with-15w-Amp-Sunburst/L82) over over the standard three single coil layout. Just curious. ;)
I plumped for the hss back in 1995 purely because that's what Billie-Jo Armstrong was playing at the time. I'd still go for it again, but I prefer the sound of a humbucker:-)
