Your Recordings / How to unite a collection of songs
September 05, 2014, 09:15:15 PM
This is something I'm working on. The upcoming LGL album is written as a 'concept' album. Tunes reappear throughout the entire album, spread across the tracks. This has freed up the guitar to have a different character, not just for each song, but for each and every phrase. It doesn't sound disjointed, because the whole thing is unified by the writing. General Discussion / When to record guitar parts

General Discussion / Guitar scales

Having recorded almost everything for the second LGL album, I'm now gearing up for the recording of the guitar parts!! Think I'll spend the summer refreshing scales-the majors and minors, in the 5 shapes. This is THE way to become relaxed with the fretboard, and it makes the learning of parts so much easier...   ???

Promote You, or your band / Looking-Glass Lantern
June 21, 2014, 08:08:50 PM

Looking-Glass Lantern was conceived by classically-trained multi-instrumentalist Graham Dunnington as a musical project fusing 'classic' progressive rock with the atmosphere of Victorian England. The result is a musical style of great character and charm. Whilst being firmly grounded in the world of progressive rock, the influence of classical music is never far away, and fans of longer pieces and story-telling may find something of interest in the songs - we hope so.
