Disclaimer:  Just to note that I haven't tried all of these VST's so don't blame me if it screws something up on your PC or DAW. It's entirely up to you to check out and decide to download and use them. ;) Also there will be some paid and some free plugins via these links.

I might try some of these that I don't already have - but just one word of caution. The recent releases of major DAWs for 64 bit machines will only support 64 plugins, and a lot of the free ones are/were 32 bit.

Good advice Howard.  I think some of these are offer 32 bit and 64 bit versions, but it's best to check before downloading that the correct version is available.

Yes, there are quite a few 64 bit ones - I use MT Power Drummer in conjunction with Addictive drums (after creating a drum map).

To be honest I've accumulated so many plugins in the past few years that I sometimes wonder which one to use. My favourite basic sound modification ones are the suite supplied with my Focusrite interface and my favourite instrument is Expand2 from Air - I got it when it was briefly offered as a reward from the Focusrite collective.

When I get some time and the inclination I'll work my way through the list :)

Eventide are giving away EQuivocate EQ until the end of October. You will need an iLok account, although not apparently one of their infernal dongles.
