After purchasing a Blackstar ID:Core 40 a while back and absolutely loving it, I'm now considering getting  a  Fly 3, these seem like a lot fun and at a fantastic price.  I'll probably go for the pack which has the extension speaker and the mains power supply. Blackstar Fly3Pak 3-Watt Battery Powered Guitar Amp with Extension Speaker.

Anyone else got one of these, any good. It seems like a good portable solution to me, plus doubles up a s great iPod dock.   Your thoughts.

Looks like a very nice little box. Can't go wrong really for the price, although the extension speaker pack looks like the best deal as it has a power supply with it. If I was in the market for one I'd go for that. Luckily I have enough room in my study for a Mustang 3, not to mention some decent headphones if need be . .

Just sold my Tagliare for only a smidge less than I paid for it - but the funds are earmarked for a new MIDI controller - a Novation Impulse 61. 8)

I've got to be honest and say I still haven't fully explored my Mustang 3 v2, since I got the Blackstar ID:Core 40 I tend to plug that one in instead, it's superb fun. Especially for the dirty stuff.  8)  I'll get around to it one day for sure.  Actually it's even made my HT5R redundant, which surprises me somewhat.

Tagliare didn't cut it then m8?  I'll have to google the Novation Impulse 61 to see what you're talking about.  ;)

Hi Mick.

I know what you mean about the Mustang - I haven't really got to grips with either the V1 or the V2. I've tweaked a few of the presets to give me some sounds that I like, basically either totally clean like the 65 Twin or with a completely wound up 'British 80's', or JCM 800 as we used to call it, which to my ears is rather nice. Given that the V2 even has a wah wah via the expression pedal I hardly ever plug the Cry Baby in any more either.

Anyway, the Tagliare. I just didn't like playing it, even after spending not a little time and effort setting it up. The tone was just too maple fingerboard Strat jangly for my liking.  I mostly play the Epi and the HB L-1000, with forays into Squier Strat territory from time to time. IMO the Squier is a far better guitar than the DZ, plays better and after the addition of the Wilkinson hot pickups sounds miles better too.

The Novation is a MIDI controller for DAWs.

I've ordered it from Andertons, so we'll see how it goes . .
