Hi, I am Jake Quincey, a guitar teacher in Canterbury, Kent. I was educated at The London Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (http://www.icmp.co.uk/) and can play and teach a wide range of styles. I have a vast fretboard vocabulary which I can share with you, and I can teach you how to really use it creatively. I like to focus heavily on rhythm, groove, feel and dynamics, as these are the elements of music that really connect with both the player and listener.

I specialize mainly in blues, classic rock, southern rock, rock n roll and popular music, and have a good knowledge of many other styles. I also teach music theory, technique and improvisation.

I charge £20 for a 1 hour private lesson and can offer discounts per person for shared lessons organised by the students. The larger the group, the bigger the discount per person (maximum 5 people). These prices are very competitive.

I rent a great teaching space on the edge of Canterbury which is comfortable, quiet and includes a very useful whiteboard. It has free parking and a bus stop near by, but can also be easily reach by foot from the town center.

I produce my own hand outs and work sheets to accompany each lesson.

I take students from ages 13+.
