Stratocaster question.

So your about to by your first electric guitar, for example one of the Fender Squire Affinity series. 

These come in a couple of different types, the standard with three single coil pickups, and the HSS version which has a humbucking bridge pickup, and single coil neck and middle pickups.

Which one would you choose and why?   What would make you choose the Stratocaster HSS over over the standard three single coil layout.  Just curious.  ;)

I plumped for the hss back in 1995 purely because that's what Billie-Jo Armstrong was playing at the time.  I'd still go for it again, but I prefer the sound of a humbucker:-)
