General Data Protection Regulation

As some of you may know, and those that don't from the 25th May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect, this is a (EU 2016/679) regulation that is intended to strengthen and unify data protection for EU residents.

It quantifies and clarifies what data controllers can do. It effects us in that we store some personal information from yourselves, as a individual you have the following rights these are detailed below;

If you invoke your right to erase, we as a community shall remove all data relating to personal information for yourselves, this includes all stored IP Address's, your Email Address, and any other personal information you have posted on this site. However, where your data would impact the site. In this instance your post will become annoymous and no information relating to yourself will be stored.

If you wish to restrict processing you can disable the option for emails to be sent to you without your consent, this is available within your profile settings, in the Notifications section. You can edit who can see your personal details within the Account Settings section.

Hopefully none of this will apply to us here at this site, but we should inform you what data we do store and how we will comply with the new ruling.

Thanks,

The Guitarist Guild Team.
